Wendy Angst
General Manager, CapMed

Wendy Angst has over 12 years of professional and management experience in healthcare. Ms. Angst has been a member of the CapMed team since its incorporation where she has played an integral role in developing and executing the growth strategy of CapMed, and has been instrumental in the creation of the patent-pending Personal HealthKey™.

Prior to joining CapMed, she served as National Director for a non-profit organization dedicated to serving hospitalized veterans, and worked in strategy and planning for Delaware's largest health care system. She has also been active in international healthcare, working on high profile projects for Western Australia's largest women's and children's hospitals. She has also held various consulting roles in the areas of marketing and business development in healthcare.

Ms. Angst is actively involved with the Working Group on Health Information Technology (HIT) for Small and Medium Medical Practices, the ASTM E31 standards group for the Continuity of Care Record, SOS Rx, and completed work with the Connecting for Health Working Group on Policies for Electronic Information Sharing Between Doctors and Patients that provided recommendations to Dr. David Brailer on personal health records for the nation's HIT strategy. She serves on the board of directors of the Blood Bank of Delaware/Eastern Shore and was founder of the Young Donor Advisory Committee, aimed at increasing blood donation by young professionals. Also, she is an active member and past board member of the Healthcare Leadership Network of the Delaware Valley, a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and member of the Healthcare Marketing & Communications Council.

Ms. Angst holds a BS from Michigan State University and has a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of LaVerne in Southern California.



Beth Hurter
Director - Product Development, CapMed

Beth Hurter is the Director of Product Development for CapMed, A Division of Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. She leads the architecture design and the development of the CapMed Personal Health Record. Ms. Hurter has over 10 years of software engineering experience in the Healthcare IT industry. In addition to working with Personal Health Records for 9 years, she also spent several years with Electronic Healthcare Systems as technical lead and director of development for the ChartRevolution Electronic Medical Record.

Prior to entering the Healthcare IT industry, Ms. Hurter worked as a software engineer on several government defense programs and was a systems engineer, defining the requirements for the onboard software systems to manage and control payload operations for the NASA International Space Station.

Ms. Hurter is active on many committees committed to the electronic exchange of medical information, including the HL7 EHR-PHR Linkage Work Group, the ASTM E31 standards group for the Continuity of Care Record, and the CCR Acceleration Task Force. She also participates in the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) demonstrations and workshops. Her work on these committees is dedicated to ensuring that emerging data standards support the interchange of data between the healthcare provider and the patient through the personal health record.

Ms. Hurter graduated with honors from Murray State University, where she was active in several honors societies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics with emphasis in Computer Science.


Mary Ellen Zipper
Director of Client Relations, CapMed

Mary Ellen Zipper is the director of client relations for CapMed, a division of Bio-Imaging Technologies. In this role she assumes project lead responsibilities for integrated PHR rollouts and other CapMed projects.

Mary Ellen has more than 20 years of clinical, human resource management and project management experience in health care. She started her career as a hospital clinical nurse, with a focus on women and infant health. She then worked at a women’s health ambulatory-care facility as a nurse and nurse manager before becoming a project manager for a new electronic medical record development and implementation project. Her involvement spanned the full life cycle of the project, where she offered leadership, guidance and participation in a number of project phases. Building on this experience, Mary Ellen then moved to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she worked in the Information Technology Department and managed multiple departmental clinical systems projects. In addition, she has had consulting roles in systems analysis and design and EMR application development.

Mary Ellen graduated with honors from Adelphi University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She has pursued project management training through the Project Management Institute.



Mark Weinstein
President and CEO, Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc

Mr. Weinstein has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bio-Imaging Technologies since February 1998 and has been a Director since March 1998. Mr. Weinstein also served as the Chief Financial Officer from January 2000 to February 2003. Mr. Weinstein joined Bio-Imaging in June 1997 as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing and was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer in December 1997. Prior to joining Bio-Imaging in May 1997, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Internet Tradeline, Inc., an internet-based electronic solutions provider. From July 1991 to August 1996, Mr. Weinstein worked for Medical Economics Company, an international health care information company and wholly-owned division of The Thomson Corporation. He held several senior management positions at Medical Economics Company, serving finally as President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Group. Mark Weinstein graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors degree in Economics. He went on to earn his MBA from the College of William and Mary.
