Applications
The CapMed Personal Health Management suite of tools is driven by CapMed’s Personal Health Record (PHR) application. The CapMed PHR is a hybrid application and provides patients options on how personal health information is stored, managed, and shared. CapMed’s interactive patient outreach solutions are made available to end users in three, secure applications: the Personal Health Record™, a desktop version installed on the personal computer with a CD-ROM, the Personal HealthKey™, a USB thumbdrive, and the Online PHR™, the Internet-based application. Each application contains complete versions of your organization’s customized version of the CapMed Personal Health Platform, a full-featured software application which assists patients in managing their personal health and wellness.

Personal HealthKey™
Enable your patients to transport personal health information privately and securely on a key chain with the CapMed Personal HealthKey. Simple, reliable, secure and cost-effective, the HealthKey plugs into any computer USB port, available on most computers worldwide.
The HealthKey contains your organization’s customized version of the Personal Health Record, allowing patients to transport their entire medical record or specific health reports including images. Data encryption and password protection lets the user decide which information to share. The HealthKey can be easily updated and viewed with no additional hardware or software needed, so, unlike a smart card, it’s never obsolete.

Personal Health Record™ CD-ROM
CapMed is the industry leader in CD-based personal health records (PHR). With over half a million distributed to date, the CapMed Personal Health Record is a CD-ROM which can be accessed by any computer with a CD-ROM drive. The CD launches the user interface of your organization’s customized version of the CapMed Personal Health Record. The user enters or imports data into the software program which is then stored on the computer’s hard drive. Reports of data can be printed out and shared with medical care providers or through a secure data exchange.

Online PHR™
The CapMed Online PHR is the online version of the desktop and USB drive applications, enabling users to manage and share all or part of their PHR information online. The Online PHR can be implemented in a hybrid model with the Personal HealthKey and/or PHR CD-ROM, or as a stand-alone solution. Users may authorize providers, family members, and caregivers to view all or part of the data. The user has complete control to assign varying levels of authorization and access to these individuals.

Each of these applications can be customized to increase brand awareness of your organization. Opportunities for customization include product packaging, user interface components, links to Web-based resources and auto-launching promotional presentations. CapMed offers customization services as a component of the implementation project.
